CASEY WHEELER is an artist-educator, researcher, and writer who mixes media not only on the canvas, but in all areas of life. They specialize in research and work centered on the intersection of childhood, sexuality, and fandom spaces. Casey’s undergraduate thesis “Role Play” explores the dynamics of queer identity and childhood development through play in a memoir-style exploration of their own homeschooled past. Currently attending Columbia Teacher’s College, Casey spent their undergraduate career at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the Visual and Critical Studies program, and was a participant of the LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogues Project.
