In 2024, the Court Theatre Education Initiative launched a brand-new summer professional development opportunity for teachers, called Dramatic Literacy: Unlocking Text-Based Play. We are thrilled that this workshop provides five days of ISBE-approved CPDU credits. Participants will be invited to develop curriculum-building skills centered in theatre-based practices through partnered activities, field experience, and learning sessions.
This year’s Dramatic Literacy workshop will be held from Monday, August 3 to Friday, August 7 from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. The program will take place at Court Theatre’s Production Center (5410 S. State Street) as well as select off-site locations, to be announced soon. Applications for this year’s workshop are currently closed.
