Join us for a film that explores the harsh reality of life for students who attend a school on the verge of getting closed by the city. Shot in a documentary format spliced with a fictional storyline, we take this journey with the Harper High School students as they channel their artistic expression into art to raise awareness.

Court Theatre’s Education Initiative Season Enrichment Events provide an education complement to the mainstage Court Theatre productions. August Wilson’s Radio Golf opens Court’s 2018/19 season and provides the perfect backdrop for community conversations. The play, among other culturally specific themes, deals with urban renewal, gentrification, and generational family connections to neighborhoods in urban America. It explores what happens when communities are uprooted and displaced from their homes primarily due to capitalism to benefit those in power. The S.O.S. SAVE OUR SCHOOL, short film created by Harper High School students in partnership with Court Education and funded by Ingenuity, is our amazing students’ way of  examining the same issues.

The S.O.S. SAVE OUR SCHOOL short film was created by Harper High School students in partnership with Court Theatre’s Education Initiative and supported by The Creative Schools Fund, a grant making partnership between Ingenuity and CPS’ Department of Arts Education.
