MADISON BLACKWOOD (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist, creative producer, and development professional with a background in new work development and theatre education. Joining Court Theatre as the Associate Director of Development, Madison will support Court’s annual fundraising efforts, strategic events, and development communications.
In addition to her work at Court, Madison is a member of the literary committee at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, and served as associate dramaturg for their world premiere production of PIVOT by Alex Lubischer. Madison’s professional theatre resume includes work with Midwestern companies (St. Louis Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Repertory Theatre, the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Indianapolis Shakespeare Company, Phoenix Theatre, COCA St. Louis, and Stages St. Louis), and UK based companies (Finborough Theatre, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Performing International Plays) as a producer, educator, administrator, and dramaturg.
Madison holds a Bachelor of Art in Theatre Studies / Dramaturgy from Ball State University, and a Master of Art in Creative Producing from the University of Kent. Her graduate research areas include the landscape of funding for the arts in the United States, accessibility and inclusion in the theatre industry, and public arts education access models in relation to sustainable audience development and social /economic growth.
