Heidi Thompson Saunders is the Managing Director of Court Theatre, the professional theater in residence at the University of Chicago. At Court, Heidi oversees the Marketing and Community Engagement departments, works closely with the executive leadership on all strategic issues (including funding priorities and strategy), and is a key liaison to University administrative units such as the Budget Office. Heidi joined Court in 2009 after four years as the Executive Director of Barrel of Monkeys, an arts education theater company that brings creative writing and drama programs to under-served Chicago public schools and park districts. Heidi received her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2005 with concentrations in general management and marketing. She has served on committees or boards for the League of Resident Theaters, Cabrini Green Legal Aid, the Chicago Family Theater Association, the Chicago Comedy Association, the Illinois Theatre Association, and is currently the Vice Chair of the board of the League of Chicago Theatres. Heidi lives in Lincoln Square with her husband (a partner at Jenner & Block LLP), two young children, and an overly friendly mutt.
