Kaitlyn Anderson Joins Court Staff as Director of Production

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to share that Kaitlyn Anderson has joined Court Theatre staff as the new Director of Production.
Kaitlyn brings more than a decade of experience leading production and operations for theatrical and live events, with work spanning regional theatre, ballet, festivals, and site-specific performance. Prior to joining Court, she served as Director of Production at The Washington Ballet, overseeing the mainstage season, special performances, and large-scale events, and she spent nearly a decade at Milwaukee Repertory Theater supporting new work development, multiple venues, and organization-wide production systems.
Known for her collaborative leadership, technical fluency, and practical approach to budgets and logistics, Kaitlyn is committed to building processes that support artists, crews, and ambitious storytelling.
“I’m excited to join Court Theatre for many reasons, starting with the people,” shares Kaitlyn. “Court has a reputation not only for the quality of its work, but for the quality of its collaborators, thoughtful, generous, deeply skilled artists and staff who care about how the work gets made, not just how it looks in the end. That kind of environment is rare, and it’s where I do my best work.
I’m eager to support the kind of theatre Court is known for, work that asks big questions, challenges audiences, and stays with you, by helping create the conditions where artists and production teams can work together at a high level. Being part of a company that values both ambition and care is incredibly motivating to me.
On a personal level, returning to the Midwest feels like coming home. I’m a Michigan native and spent nine formative years working in Milwaukee, and I’m excited to be back in a region with such a strong theatrical ecosystem and civic identity. Chicago has long been a place where theatre speaks directly to its community, and Court’s commitment to making work that is timely, relevant, and engaged is deeply meaningful to me.
I’m also honored to be joining Court at this moment, supporting Avery Willis Hoffman’s vision while building on the extraordinary legacy of Charles Newell. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of what comes next.”
Please join us in wishing Kaitlyn a warm welcome!
