have we reached
the pinnacle of freedom
that bane of our existence
I think not
of course, the arduous, elusive, protracted
struggle… continues
and we strive to reach
the pinnacle
of freedom
of course
until we are all…all, free
to roam, and pray. To love and walk the world
as human beings should
every day
until the chains that hold not only our bodies
but our minds, are
destroyed
until the hate, and prejudice, that permeates
the world is
eradicated
we can never truly be free
as a people
it has a heavy price,
this struggle to be free
many, many, lives have been sacrificed
to simply have
equality
please, let’s wake up people…
before it’s too late
let’s reach the pinnacle
of freedom
