JACK MAGAW (Scenic
Design) works as a professional scenic and lighting designer and also
teaches design at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago.
Recent design credits include Lettice and Lovage and Fences at Court Theatre,
Loving Repeating directed by Frank Galati for About Face Theatre, Frozen
at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, Anna Christie and Our Town at Madison
Repertory Theatre, Much Ado About Nothing for Milwaukee Shakespeare, Julius
Caesar for Illinois Shakespeare Festival, The Illusion at Berkshire Theatre
Festival, The Chosen and Bus Stop at Writers’ Theatre, and Two Trains
Running for Pegasus Players, for which he was awarded a Jeff Citation.
He recently received Joseph Jefferson Award nominations for his designs
of Fences and Bus Stop and an “Outstanding Season” After Dark
Award in recognition of his work over the 2004-05 season. Upcoming projects
include Half of Plenty for American Theatre Company and Henry V at the
Illinois Shakespeare Festival.
KATHY A. PERKINS (Lighting
Design) has designed throughout the United States, as well as in Europe
and South Africa. In the New York area her work has been seen off-Broadway
with such theatres as The New Federal Theatre and Manhattan Theatre Club
and in such venues as Carnegie Hall and Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
For two seasons she was resident designer at the Los Angeles Theatre Center
(LATC). Regionally, Kathy has designed for such theatres as The Goodman,
Alliance, Mark Taper Forum, St. Louis Black Repertory, Steppenwolf, A
Contemporary Theatre, Indiana Repertory, Seattle Repertory, Congo Square,
Missouri Repertory, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Berkeley Repertory,
and Studio Arena. Kathy chairs the lighting design program at the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is the editor/co-editor of four anthologies
focusing on African/African Diaspora women. This is Kathy’s third
production at Court, having designed Desire Under the Elms and last season’s
award-winning Fences.
CHRISTINE PASCUAL
(Costume Design) is excited to be making her Court Theatre debut as a
costume designer for Flyin’ West. Recently she designed Joe Turner’s
Come and Gone for Congo Square at the Goodman Theatre; The African Company
Presents Richard III at Congo Square; Elliot: A Soldier’s Fugue–a
co-production with Teatro Vista, Rivendell, and Steppenwolf; Another Part
of the House for Teatro Vista; and Black Caesar for Pegasus Players. Other
theatres Christine has designed for include Goodman, Apple Tree, A Red
Orchid, Defiant Theatre, TimeLine Theatre, Victory Gardens, Lifeline Theatre,
and Steppenwolf. Christine is a member of United Scenic Artists Local
829. She wishes to thank Ron and Court Theatre for this opportunity and
is happy to be working with such a talented cast and crew.
JOSH HORVATH (Sound Design/Original Music) Court Theatre
credits include Raisin, Lettice and Lovage, Fences (Jeff Nomination),
Man of La Mancha, Fräulien Else (Jeff Nomination), Who’s Afraid
of Virginia Wolf?, Guys and Dolls, and The Romance Cycle. Sound engineer
on over fifteen productions. He has also worked at Goodman, Steppenwolf,
Chicago Shakespeare, Northlight, Next, Loookingglass, About Face, TimeLine,
Congo Square, Lifeline, and Shattered Globe. Regional credits: Kennedy
Center, Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee Shakespeare, Madison Rep, Hartford Stage,
Long Wharf, Mark Taper, and Great River Shakespeare. Awards and affiliations
include Jeff Award winner and four-time nominee, LA Weekly Award nominee,
Lookingglass company member. Josh teaches sound design at DePaul and Northwestern
University.
RAY NARDELLI (Sound
Design/Original Music) Past Court Credits include Raisin, Lettice and
Lovage, Fences, Man of La Mancha, Endgame, Who’s Afraid of Virginia
Woolf?, and Fräulein Else (Jeff Nomination). Ray has composed music
and designed sound at Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare,
Northlight Theatre, Apple Tree, Lookingglass Theatre, Victory Gardens,
The Gift Theatre, Northwestern Theatre, Depaul Theatre, Notre Dame Summer
Shakespeare, Meadow Brook Theatre, Oak Park Festival Theatre, Dolphinback
Theatre, American Girl Theatre, Skylight Opera, and Wright State University
Theatre. Assistant Sound Design credits include Goodman, Steppenwolf,
Manhattan Theatre Club, and Next Theatre. Ray has recorded, mixed and
produced CDs for the musicals The Sound of One, Hillbilly Antigone, and
La Luna Muda. Film credits include Stray Dogs, Pretty Ladies, and Crush.
Ray also teaches sound design at DePaul University. Other work includes
sound and music used on NPR, PBS, NBC’s The Today Show, and Jeff
Gorden Racing, a CD-ROM game. Memberships include ASCAP, IATSE #2, and
USA #829.
BEN CALVERT (Production Dramaturg) Previously at Court, Ben has been the
Production Dramaturg for Fräulein Else, The Importance of Being Earnest,
Travesties, Man of La Mancha, and Lettice & Lovage. Around Chicago,
recent credits include Helen (Next Theatre) and Elliot, a Soldier’s
Fugue (Rivendell /Teatro Vista/ Steppenwolf). Ben is also the Associate
Artistic Director for the dance company “Kairol Rosenthal, et al,”
a teaching artist for Court Theatre’s Artists-in-Schools program,
and a member of the Uptown Writer’s Space. Originally from Oregon,
he is proud to call Chicago home and thanks his family for their endless
support and love.
SARA GAMMAGE (Production Stage Manager) is happy to return
to Court Theatre where her previous credits include Guys and Dolls, Fräulein
Else, Travesties, Man of LaMancha, Lettice and Lovage, and Raisin. Other
Chicago credits include A Christmas Story at Theatre at the Center, Once
Upon a Time in New Jersey at Marriott Theatre, Dessa Rose and Tale of
the Allergist’s Wife at Apple Tree Theatre, the pre-Broadway tryout
of All Shook Up, Sink, Sank, Sunk with Redmoon Theater, The World Goes
‘Round with LaRed Productions, and The Last Five Years with Syndicate
Productions. Sara also spent two summers as the Stage Manager at the Wagon
Wheel Theatre in Warsaw, Indiana. She is a proud graduate of Northwestern
University.
WILLIAM COLLINS (Assistant Stage Manager) is glad to return
to Court where he previously was Assistant Stage Manager for Endgame and
Uncle Vanya, and Floor Manager for the 2003/04 season. For the past two
years, William has worked with Redmoon Theater as their Production Stage
Manager and most recently as their Production Manager. In Chicago, William
has also worked with About Face Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, the NeoFuturists,
and Goodman Theatre. William is a graduate of the Theatre School at DePaul
University.
