JACK
MAGAW
(Scenic Designer) works as a professional scenic and lighting
designer and is currently adjunct faculty at DePaul University
in Chicago. Recent design credits include Rembrandt’s Gift
and Topdog/Underdog at Madison Repertory Theatre,
Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Court Theatre, Red
Herring and Tom, Dick & Harry at Peninsula Players
Theatre, and Steppenwolf Theatre’s production of The Fall
to Earth as well as The Subject Was Roses at Writers’Theatre,
Pegasus Players’ Two Trains Running, Broadway Bound
and Sunday in the Park with George, for which he received
an After Dark Award, and Mornings at Seven at Drury Lane
Theatre Water Tower. He received a Joseph Jefferson Award nomination
and a Black Theatre Alliance Award for his design of Congo Square
Theatre’s production of Seven Guitars and an “Outstanding Season”
After Dark Award in recognition of his work over the 2004-05 season.
Upcoming projects include Grace at Northlight Theatre,
Our Town at Madison Repertory Theatre and Lettice and
Lovage for Court Theatre.
KATHY
A. PERKINS
(Lighting Designer) returns to the Court having designed
Desire Under the Elms (2000). She has designed throughout
the United States, as well as in Europe and South Africa. In New
York she has designed Off-Broadway, and for four seasons as festival
designer for Dance Africa at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).
In Los Angeles, Kathy was resident designer for the Los Angeles
Theatre Center, and the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company.
Regionally, she has designed for The Goodman, Alliance Theatre,
Manhattan Theatre Club, Missouri Repertory, St. Louis Black Repertory,
Mark Taper Forum, Seattle Repertory, New Federal Theatre, Indiana
Repertory, Studio Arena, Congo Square, Victory Gardens, and Arkansas
Repertory. She is the editor/co-editor of four anthologies focusing
on African/African Diaspora women. Kathy heads the lighting design
program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
JANICE
PYTEL
(Costume Designer) is happy to return to Court Theatre,
where she designed costumes for Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf?
last season. Recent design credits include Aren’t We All
with Remy Bumppo Theatre, The Last of the Boys, and The
Pain and the Itch with Steppenwolf Theatre, Rembrandt’s
Gift with Madison Repertory Theatre, Red Herring
with Northlight Theatre, Suburban Motel with Famous Door
Theatre, and Take Me Out with About Face Theatre. She
last worked with Ron OJ Parson on a production of Topdog/Underdog
with Madison Repertory Theatre. Additional Chicago credits include:
Steppenwolf– Tennessee Williams’ One Arm, Our Lady of 121st
Street, The Drawer Boy and The Infidel; About Face
Theatre–Winesburg, Ohio, Pulp, Fascination, I Am My Own Wife,

1 and 2. Janice designed costumes for the Pulitzer Prize
and Tony Award winning production of I Am My OwnWife, which is
currently on a world tour. She has also worked with Next Theatre,
Piven Theatre Workshop, L’Opera Piccola, Appletree Theatre, and

HORVATH
(Sound Designer, Composer) Chicago credits: Goodman, Steppenwolf,
Court, Chicago Shakespeare, Northlight, Next, Congo Square, and
Timeline. Regional credits: Madison Rep, Milwaukee Rep, Milwaukee
Shakespeare, The Alley, Kennedy Center, and the Robey Theatre
(LA). Film compostion: Stray Dogs and Pretty Ladies:
the Super8explosion. Recent and upcoming shows: Lettice
and Lovage (Court Theatre), Richard II (Milwaukee
Shakespeare), Crumbs From The Table of Joy (Goodman),
A Number (Next), and A Raisin in the Sun (Hartford
Stage). Joshua has been nominated for three Joseph Jefferson awards
and received one (Electricidad, Goodman Theatre). Mr. Horvath
is a company member of Lookingglass, teaches sound design at DePaul
University, and is cofounder and owner of Aria Music Designs,
LLC.
RAY
NARDELLI
(Sound Designer, Composer) Past Court Credits include Man
of La Mancha, Endgame, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, and
Fräulien Else (Jeff Nomination). Ray has composed music
and designed sound at Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare,
Northlight Theatre, Apple Tree, Lookingglass Theatre, Victory
Gardens, The Gift Theatre, Northwestern Theatre, Depaul Theatre,
Notre Dame Summer Shakespeare, Meadow Brook Theatre, Oak Park
Festival Theatre, Dolphinback Theatre, American Girl Theatre,
Skylight Opera, and Wright State University Theatre. Assistant
Sound Design credits at Goodman, Steppenwolf, Manhattan Theatre
Club and Next Theatre. Ray has recorded, mixed and produced CD’s
for the musicals The Sound of One, Hillbilly Antigone and
La Luna Muda. Film credits include Stray Dogs, Pretty
Ladies, and Crush. Ray teaches sound design at DePaul
University. Other work includes sound and music used on NPR, PBS,
NBC’s The Today Show and Jeff Gorden Racing,

NADINE
C. WARNER
(Production Dramaturg) has worked as a writer, director
and/or performer with several theater companies including the
Illinois Repertory Theatre, Bailiwick Repertory Theatre, ImprovOlympic
and Second City. She served as dramaturg for Steppenwolf’s productions
of The Wedding Band, Topdog/Underdog, and The Dresser.
She received her B.A. in English from the University of Chicago
and her J.D. from the University of Illinois. She thanks her family
and friends for their unwavering support.
