Join the renowned commedia dell’arte performer, teacher, and the director of SCAPIN, Christopher Bayes, along with LA-based actor Allen Gilmore (Argante in SCAPIN), University of Chicago Molière scholar Larry Norman, and Chicago-based Second City actor Keegan Michael Key, in a hilarious, up-on-their-feet lazzi exploring the comedian’s role in society then and now moderated by Kelly Leonard, Producer of Second City. Molière’s scathing and bawdy comedies of French society provoked controversy and censorship during his lifetime. He created a lasting legacy of comedy as a tool of social critiquea way to help a society to see itself honestly and a catalyst for change in the social order of the French upper classes. At times like the present, is laughter still the “best medicine”? Call the Court Box Office, (773) 753-4472, for reservations.
