You’ve heard it takes the audience to complete the theatrical experience. We’re taking that to heart with our world premiere event, The Romance Cycle, Court Theatre’s playful and joyous new look at Shakespeare’s Cymbeline and Pericles. Charlie’s adaptation will present a truly provocative and thrilling staging of two of Shakespeare’s rarely produced late romances. This is one of the most exciting projects we’ve produced at Court Theatre and we’re creating a number of fun ways for you to participate in it. The production itself, The Romance Cycle, Parts 1 and 2 is comprised of two full-length Shakespeare plays, each filled with outrageous humor, high adventure, incredible plot twists and romance. To present this very special event we’ve completely re-imagined the look and feel of Court Theatre’s intimate, 251-seat space and redefined the boundaries of the theatrical experience. In fact, we’re inviting you—the audience—to not only check your coat but also your shoes at the door and to enjoy Shakespeare in your stocking feet or slippers. So please consider bringing with you to the theatre your favorite pair of slippers or socks to have a truly relaxing evening of theatre. Rather than receiving the Classic Magazine in the mail beforehand, you’ll find an interactive and engaging magazine section in your program to enrich your theatre-going experience, or you may visit the many articles available online by clicking on "Magazine" and "Playnotes." Finally, complementing
this unique, 2-part theatrical event, patrons are encouraged to purchase
a delicious Greek buffet dinner from Artopolis
Bakery, Café and Agora between Parts 1 and 2. Feel free to
dine in your seat, at café tables in the lobby, on a picnic blanket
we’ll throw down on the stage or outdoors (weather permitting) during
the interval. The dinner includes sliced chicken breast stuffed with spinach
and feta cheese, chickpeas and rice, a variety of Artopitas, delicious
oven baked breads and hummus. The meal is just $12 when you purchase it
in advance by mailing in the enclosed order form or calling the box office
at least 72 hours prior to your performance. You may purchase the dinner
after the 72 hour advance deadline or on the day of performance for $14.
