★ NATO/G8 SUMMIT INFORMATION ★
Please note that the performances on 5/19 & 5/20 (and heading home after the performance on 5/18) will be affected by road closures pertaining to the NATO/G8Summit at McCormick Place. Lake Shore Drive will be closed from Balbo to 39th St, and I-55 will be closed from I-90/94 to Lake Shore Drive. As a result, the best way to reach Court Theatre from the north or west side will be by public transportation via Metra, Green, or Red lines to 55th St/Garfield and transfering to the 55 bus, or driving via I-90/94 to 55th St/Garfield. If driving, head east on Garfield for two miles, veering right and then left around Washington Park after the first mile. Parking is free in the garage next door to the theatre.
Driving Directions
From Lake Shore Drive: Exit at 57th St. (Museum of Science & Industry). Turn right at the first light (Hyde Park Blvd.). Turn left at the next light (55th St.). Travel 1 mile to Ellis Ave. Turn left on Ellis, Court is the second building on the left.
From I-94 East: Follow signs to Lake Shore Drive South via I-55. Exit Lake Shore Drive at 57th Street. (see directions above)
From I-94 West: Take the Garfield exit and turn east on Garfield. After Martin Luther King Blvd., you will enter Washington Park (Garfield becomes Morgan Dr.). Stay to the left and follow the left fork (Rainey Dr.). After the road curves to the left, turn right onto 55th Street. Turn right on Ellis; the theatre is the second building on the left.
Parking at Court Theatre
Court Theatre offers free covered parking to its patrons on evenings and weekends in the garage directly north of the theatre. There is also handicapped-accessible parking available in the garage.
Public Transportation
From the Red Line: Exit at the 55th St/Garfield Stop. Cross the street and transfer to the #55 bus eastbound. Exit at Ellis Avenue. The Theatre will be directly south of the parking structure at Ellis Ave and 55th St.
By Bus: Court is accessible by bus on the following routes: #55 (55th St. and Ellis Ave.) #172 (56th St. and Ellis Ave; Free to University of Chicago students!) #173 (57th St. and University Ave.).

Accessibility
If someone in your party has a disability that prevents them from moving between the covered parking garage and the theater building, there is a conveniently-located drop off in the parking lot in front of Court Theatre. (Although drop-offs are welcome, patrons are asked to please not park in the Young lot.) Assistive Listening Devices are available free of charge. Please ask the concessionaire for assistance. Wheelchair Seating is available. Be sure to inform the Box Office in advance of any special seating needs.
